According to a media report, following the conclusion of IPL 2025, Rohit may undergo surgery for his left hamstring.

With Rohit now focusing solely on ODIs, the Indian team’s next series is against Bangladesh, starting on August 17. The IPL 2025 final is scheduled for June 3, allowing Rohit approximately two and a half months to recover post-surgery. A source cited by a cricket blogger mentioned that if Rohit aims to participate in the 2027 World Cup, this would be the ideal time for his surgery. He has been managing this injury for several years due to his captaincy responsibilities, but retirement from Test cricket will provide him with a schedule that accommodates recovery.
