Rohit Sharma and Sikandar Raza Make Headlines in ICC Rankings

Dubai: Rohit Sharma has regained his position as the leading ODI batter, while Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza has made history by securing the No.1 rank among T20I all-rounders for the first time, showcasing his impressive form in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.

Raza has been a standout performer in the ongoing tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and hosts Pakistan. His latest outing against Sri Lanka saw him score a brisk 37 runs and deliver four economical overs, despite his team's nine-wicket loss.

This performance propelled Raza past Pakistan's Saim Ayub in the T20I all-rounders rankings, marking a significant milestone in his 13-year international career.

Since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Raza has consistently ranked among the top 10, and he was previously recognized as the No.1 ODI all-rounder in September, currently holding the second position in the longer format.

Ayub has slipped to second in the T20I all-rounders rankings, while Mohammad Nawaz has climbed to seventh following strong showings in the tri-series.

Pakistani players are on the rise, with Sahibzada Farhan jumping eight spots to fourth among T20I batters, and former captain Babar Azam moving up five places to 29th after a recent half-century.

The latest rankings reflect significant changes across all formats, particularly in ODIs, where Rohit Sharma has reclaimed the top position from New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell.

Mitchell's absence from the final two matches of the ODI series against the West Indies resulted in a loss of crucial rating points, allowing Rohit to retake the lead.

Despite this, New Zealand saw some positive movements, with Rachin Ravindra rising to 12th and Devon Conway climbing 11 spots to 31st. West Indies captain Shai Hope also improved his ranking, moving up two positions to eighth after scoring an unbeaten century.

In the ODI bowlers' rankings, New Zealand's Mitchell Santner moved up to sixth, while Matt Henry joined the top 10 after their 3-0 series victory.

The Test rankings also saw several Australian players advance following their impressive win against England in Perth, with Travis Head's match-winning innings propelling him four places to sixth among Test batters.

England's Ollie Pope improved his standing, moving up four spots to 24th, while Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim climbed seven places to 30th, and Litton Das advanced eight spots to 37th after their team's victory over Ireland.

Australia's Mitchell Starc rose four places to fifth in the Test bowlers' rankings, achieving a new career-high rating after his Player of the Match performance against England. For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam made the biggest leap, moving up four spots to 15th.

In the Test all-rounders' rankings, Ben Stokes has moved up to second place, trailing only India's Ravindra Jadeja, while Starc has climbed to fifth.
