Rohit Sharma's Retirement and Meeting with CM

Recently, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket. Just a week later, he visited the official residence of Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis. During this meeting, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to Sharma. Fadnavis shared photos of their meeting on his X account.

On X, Devendra Fadnavis expressed his pleasure in welcoming Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma to his official residence, Varsha. He mentioned that it was a delight to meet and converse with Sharma, and he wished him success in the next chapter of his journey following his retirement from Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma made his Test debut against the West Indies in November 2013. Over his career, he represented India in 67 Test matches, scoring a total of 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57. His impressive record includes 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries, with a highest score of 212 runs achieved during a home series against South Africa in 2019. He ranks as the 16th highest run-scorer in Test cricket among Indian players.

Sharma began his Test career with a remarkable 177 runs against the West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2013. Despite his talent, he faced challenges in establishing himself as a top batsman in the longer format, particularly during overseas tours.
