Roger Binny's Upcoming Retirement from BCCI

Roger Binny, the current president of the BCCI, is scheduled to retire next month. Having taken on the role in 2022, his term is expected to conclude on July 19, coinciding with his 70th birthday. According to BCCI regulations, all officials must resign upon reaching this age.

If Binny steps down, Rajeev Shukla, who is currently the vice president of the BCCI, is poised to take over the presidency.

As reported by a news agency, Shukla may assume the role of acting president in July, following Binny's birthday. This transition is necessary as Binny will turn 70 on that date.

Rajeev Shukla, aged 65, will initially serve as the acting president for the first three months. He will turn 66 during the annual general meeting scheduled for September, at which point he will be eligible to run for the presidency.

Until a new president is appointed, Shukla will serve as the interim president. It is noteworthy that Roger Binny became the 36th president of the BCCI in 2022, succeeding Sourav Ganguly.
