Rishabh Pant's Ongoing Recovery

London: Rishabh Pant, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, is still in the process of healing from an injury to his left index finger. Consequently, he will not be taking on wicketkeeping duties for the remainder of England's first innings during the third Test match.

The injury occurred when Pant attempted to stop a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah on the leg side during the 34th over of England's innings on the first day of the match.

Despite experiencing pain, Pant managed to fulfill his wicketkeeping responsibilities until the end of the over, after which he passed the gloves to Dhruv Jurel.

According to a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), "Rishabh Pant is still recovering from the impact on his left index finger. The medical team is closely monitoring his recovery. Dhruv Jurel will continue as the wicketkeeper on Day 2."

On the second morning, prior to the start of play, Pant attempted some warm-up routines but appeared to be in discomfort, indicating that he would not be participating on the second day.
