Rishabh Pant Shines in Second Test Against England

India's vice-captain, Rishabh Pant, showcased his exceptional six-hitting ability during the second Test match against England at Edgbaston on Saturday. His impressive performance included hitting sixes with ease, further solidifying his reputation as a dynamic wicketkeeper-batter.

On the fourth day of the Test in Birmingham, Pant scored a rapid 65 runs off just 58 balls, hitting three sixes and surpassing England's captain Ben Stokes' record for the most sixes in Test matches played in foreign countries.

Record-Breaking Sixes in Away Tests

With his remarkable innings, Pant now holds the record for the most sixes in away Tests, totaling 24 sixes in England. This achievement places him ahead of Stokes, who has 21 sixes in South Africa, while West Indies legend Vivian Richards ranks third with 16 sixes in England.

Pant's aggressive batting style was crucial for India, especially with less than two days remaining in the match. He partnered with Test captain Shubman Gill after KL Rahul was dismissed for 55 runs.

Pant's Explosive Batting Performance

Pant began his innings with flair, hitting a four off a back-of-the-length delivery before following it up with a powerful six. He received a fortunate break when he attempted a big shot but was nearly caught by Zak Crawley, who couldn't hold onto the catch, much to Stokes' frustration.

In the next over, Pant struck again, sending the ball over backward square for another six. After lunch, he reached his fifty with a single and then launched his third six of the day. However, he was eventually dismissed by England's spinner Shoaib Bashir, who caught him out in the hands of Ben Duckett.
