Uttarakhand CM Responds to Rishabh Pant's Request

Dehradun: The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has responded to cricketer Rishabh Pant's appeal for assistance in acquiring land to construct a home in his native state. He has directed the relevant officials to address the matter according to regulations and provide support to the Indian wicketkeeper-batter.

Pant made his request via a social media post late at night, tagging CM Dhami, expressing his desire to purchase land in the hills for his first house as he plans to relocate from Delhi.

In his reply, Chief Minister Dhami acknowledged Pant's contributions to Uttarakhand, stating, "You are a source of pride for our state. Your remarkable achievements in sports have brought honor to 'Devbhoomi' on both national and international platforms. Your commitment to your roots and your wish to return and contribute are truly admirable."

Dhami assured Pant that instructions were being given to the appropriate officials to reach out and provide assistance as per the rules.

The late-night social media post caught many off guard, especially since Pant's family already owns a house in Rourkee, making it relatively easy for them to connect with local property dealers to find suitable land.

However, Pant opted for an unconventional approach to seek help for purchasing land in the hills for his 'first house,' posting from Sri Lanka, where he is currently touring with the Indian cricket team.

In his message to CM Dhami, Pant wrote, "Hello sir, how’s you??? (sic) It’s been a while for me, especially being from Uttarakhand. I have been trying to buy land to move my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand, but I haven’t found anything suitable. I love my Uttarakhand. This is my humble request."

He later clarified that he is not looking for a gift from the state but wishes to buy land at government rates to build his home.

"A gift would be wonderful for representing our state internationally, but if possible, I would like to purchase it from the government at their rates; this way, I can have my first house in my own state. Please assist me. I genuinely don’t know how to proceed," Pant added in his post late Friday night.

The Chief Minister's prompt response has initiated the process, with officials expected to contact the wicketkeeper-batter soon to move forward.
