Rishabh Pant Reflects on Lord's Glory Ahead of Third Test Against England

Pant Remembers Historic Lord's Victory
As the Indian cricket team prepares for the third Test against England, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant reminisced about the unforgettable win at the historic Lord's ground during India's last tour in 2021. He expressed his gratitude for the chance to play again, emphasizing the team's increasing confidence with each match.
During the previous tour, India concluded with a 2-2 draw, but they celebrated a remarkable victory at Lord's.
Pant's Optimism for the Upcoming Test
In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant stated, "Everyone knows it's an iconic ground. Witnessing the team come together to win that Test match was incredible. Now, I feel fortunate to have another opportunity with a different team in a new role." The third Test of the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series is set to commence at Lord's on July 10.
Pant also highlighted the team's morale following a significant 336-run victory at Edgbaston, which leveled the series at 1-1. He remarked, "The way the team is performing, confidence is building with every match. We aim to carry this momentum forward and hopefully secure a 2-1 lead in the series."
KL Rahul's Pride in Playing at Lord's
Indian batter KL Rahul shared his excitement about playing at Lord's, expressing pride in his name being on the honors board. He aims to deliver a strong performance to help India secure a win.
"It’s a proud moment to play here and see my name on the honors board. I hope to contribute significantly and help my team achieve victory," Rahul stated.
Team India Aims to Maintain Momentum
India's recent performance showcased exceptional batting and bowling, even in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. Captain Shubman Gill's outstanding innings of 269 and 161, along with Mohammed Siraj's six-wicket haul and Akash Deep's ten-wicket performance, were pivotal in their success at Birmingham.
Historically, India and England have clashed 19 times at Lord's, with England winning 12 matches and India securing just three victories.
