Rishabh Pant Discusses Jasprit Bumrah's Unique Skills Ahead of Third Test Against England
Pant Highlights Bumrah's Exceptional Talent
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared insights about veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah before the upcoming third Test against England at Lord's, known as the Home of Cricket. Bumrah is expected to take the place of Prasidh Krishna in the Indian lineup as the teams prepare for the third match of the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series, commencing on July 10.
During a pre-match press conference, Pant remarked, "Bumrah's accuracy and the way he thinks on the field make him truly remarkable. For a wicketkeeper, especially in England where the ball moves, it can be more challenging than for a batsman."
Pant Comments on England's Flat Wickets
Pant also addressed the flat pitches encountered in England thus far, noting that the English style of play necessitates good batting surfaces. He stated, "We anticipated that the wickets would be favorable for batting in England. The challenge was to figure out how to take 20 wickets on such pitches. Shubman and I discussed the need for our batters to rise to the occasion. Although our senior players may not be the biggest names, this is a chance for others to step up, and they are gradually doing so."
India Aims to Maintain Momentum from Edgbaston Test
India made history with a remarkable 336-run victory over England in the second Test at Birmingham, marking their first win at Edgbaston and their largest Test victory overseas by runs. Following this achievement, India is eager to carry their winning streak into Lord's, where they have only lost one Test in their last three visits. The series currently stands at one win each.
Conversely, England, who successfully chased a historic target of 371 to defeat India by five wickets in the first Test at Headingley, will be looking to recover in the third Test.
