Meredith's Unforgettable Delivery Shatters Stump
This extraordinary event took place early in Essex's innings. Meredith sprinted in and delivered a low full toss that struck the leg-stump with such force that it split the stump lengthwise, leaving one half embedded in the ground while the other flew away. The spectacle left the batter in disbelief.
With a smile, Meredith retrieved the broken stump as if it were a trophy, handing the pieces to the umpire and clearly enjoying the moment. Fans and commentators hailed it as a dream delivery for any fast bowler.

Meredith's Impact on Somerset's Bowling Performance
The 28-year-old Tasmanian bowler concluded his spell with impressive figures of 2 wickets for 22 runs in just two overs. His explosive performance contributed to Essex's collapse, as they were bowled out for a mere 130 runs in 14.1 overs. Matt Henry stood out with 4 wickets for 21 runs, while Craig Overton also claimed two wickets.
Earlier, Somerset had set a formidable target of 225 runs for 6 wickets. Tom Kohler-Cadmore from Rajasthan Royals was the standout performer, scoring a rapid 90 runs off 39 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. Essex captain Simon Harmer's decision to field first on a flat pitch proved to be a costly mistake.
With this victory, Somerset now leads the South Group with 36 points from 11 matches, while Essex languishes at the bottom, having secured only one win in the same number of games.
