Rhea Ripley is recognized as one of the most formidable athletes on the WWE women's roster, known for her impressive physicality. Her wrestling style often leads to intense moments in the ring, but these high-impact spots come with a toll on her body.

Like many of her peers, Ripley has a routine to ensure her body recovers after frequent matches. Although she employs various methods to manage pain, she recalls a particularly painful incident from her NXT days.

A Memorable Incident with Raquel Rodriguez

Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez, both part of the Monday Night Raw roster, share a close friendship outside the ring. Before their current roles, they had a competitive rivalry during their time in NXT. In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ripley recounted a match that left her with lasting pain.

“I think it actually started from the match I had with Raquel in NXT, where she gave me the back body drop onto the announcement table, but we undershot it,” Ripley explained. “I hit the very edge of the table, right on my lower back. After that, my lower back was just never the same.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Ripley also shared that she broke her shin during an independent wrestling event in Australia and received her first black eye after a fall onto concrete during her early wrestling career.

Recently, Ripley triumphed over Rodriguez in a Street Fight at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. She is now set to face IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship at WWE Evolution this Sunday. Additionally, Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in a Fatal-4-Way Match during the same event.
