RCB Celebrates Historic IPL Victory with Heartwarming Gesture from Captain Rajat Patidar

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Claims First IPL Title

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their long quest for an Indian Premier League (IPL) championship earlier this week, triumphing over Punjab Kings by a narrow six-run margin in a nail-biting final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB secured their inaugural IPL title, putting an end to years of near misses and disappointments.

Rajat Patidar's Heartfelt Gesture After the Victory

Days after this monumental win, fans are still enjoying exclusive behind-the-scenes moments from the celebrations, with a new video circulating on social media. In this clip, Patidar deviates from the usual post-match tradition where the winning captain typically signs off the broadcast camera. Instead, he graciously allowed Virat Kohli to take the spotlight.

Patidar's Leadership in His Debut Year

In the video, Patidar encourages Kohli to take the honor of signing off. Although Kohli hesitated at first, he eventually agreed, much to the joy of the RCB team. This emotional moment highlighted Kohli's significant legacy and role within the franchise, particularly following his impressive performance in the 2025 season.

Kohli, who had waited 18 years to secure an IPL title, was visibly touched after the match. He amassed 657 runs across 15 games, boasting a strike rate of 144.71 and an average of 54.75, including eight half-centuries during the victorious campaign.

Notably, Rajat Patidar became only the fourth captain in IPL history to win the title in his first year, joining the ranks of Shane Warne, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya.
