RCB Claims First IPL Title After 18 Years

On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphed over Punjab Kings by a narrow margin of 6 runs in the IPL final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, marking their first championship win in 18 years. Following this historic victory, the RCB team participated in a special celebration event in Bengaluru.

Upon their arrival at the airport on Wednesday afternoon, RCB was warmly welcomed by a large crowd of fans gathered outside. However, the excitement turned tragic when a stampede occurred before the players reached the stadium, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and injuries to over 50 individuals, prompting the event to conclude prematurely.

At Chinnaswamy Stadium, thousands of fans were so enthusiastic that they drowned out Virat Kohli's attempts to speak. Kohli had to request the crowd to allow him to address them, emphasizing the need to wrap up the ceremony due to time constraints. He reiterated the sentiment expressed by the captain after their trophy win, stating, 'Now it’s not just 'E sala cup namde' but 'E sala cup namdhu.' We did it, and this victory is not just for the players or for someone like me who has been here for 18 years, but for all of you.'
