Jadeja Surpasses Bravo in IPL Wickets
Ravindra Jadeja has etched his name in the history of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by becoming the franchise's leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His remarkable performance at Eden Gardens on Wednesday saw him claim one wicket against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), allowing him to surpass Dwayne Bravo's record. Jadeja dismissed KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, bringing his total to 141 wickets for CSK.
Prior to this match, both Jadeja and Bravo were tied at 140 wickets. Jadeja needed just one more wicket to take the lead, which he achieved by bowling out Rahane at a crucial juncture of the game.
With this latest achievement, Jadeja's IPL statistics now stand at 141 wickets from 171 matches, boasting an impressive bowling average of 28.41 and a strike rate of 22.3. In contrast, Bravo, who is currently part of KKR's support staff, took 140 wickets in only 113 innings. They are the only two bowlers to have claimed over 100 wickets for CSK. Jadeja now ranks fifth for the most wickets taken with a single IPL team and tenth overall in the league's history.

In terms of T20 matches for CSK, Jadeja has achieved a total of 150 wickets. However, Bravo still holds the record for the most wickets in CSK history with 154. Since joining CSK in 2012, Jadeja has been a vital component of the team. He also boasts the best bowling figures for CSK in an IPL match, with 5/12 against the Deccan Chargers in 2012.
Jadeja's contributions with the bat remain significant as well. He ranks fifth among all-time run-scorers for CSK, trailing only MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Faf du Plessis. This season, he has accumulated 260 runs in 12 matches while also taking 8 wickets, showcasing his all-rounder capabilities.
