Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi expressed his enthusiasm after being signed by the Rajasthan Royals (RR). He was auctioned for an impressive ₹7.4 crore during the IPL 2026 auction, significantly higher than his base price of ₹2 crore. The bidding was competitive, with teams like CSK, RR, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vying for his services, ultimately leading to his selection by the Royals.
Bowling with Jadeja: A Valuable Learning Opportunity
In an interview on 'Match Centre Live Auction 2026', Bishnoi shared his excitement about playing for his home team in the upcoming IPL season. He stated, "Having the chance to bowl alongside Ravindra Jadeja is incredibly meaningful to me. It will be a tremendous learning experience, as he has a wealth of knowledge and is one of the top all-rounders in the game, both in India and globally." He also mentioned the favorable conditions at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, noting that the long boundaries would benefit their performance this season.
Cameron Green Joins KKR for Record ₹25.20 Crore
In another significant development, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a staggering ₹25.20 crore, making him the third-most expensive player in IPL history and the highest-priced overseas player ever. The bidding war was intense, with Rajasthan Royals initially participating but bowing out at around ₹13 crore. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) then entered the fray, pushing the bid above ₹20 crore before KKR clinched the deal with their final offer.
Cameron Green's Impressive Career Stats
Cameron Green boasts an impressive record, having scored 521 runs in 21 T20I matches at an average of 32.56, with a strike rate of 160.30, including six half-centuries and 12 wickets at an average of 23.35. In T20 matches, he has accumulated 1,334 runs across 63 games at an average of 33.35, with a strike rate of 151.07, featuring one century and seven fifties, along with 28 wickets. Green previously played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL seasons of 2023 and 2024, scoring 707 runs in 29 matches at an average of 41.58, with a strike rate exceeding 153, and taking 16 wickets. However, he missed last season's auction due to an injury. Despite the ₹25.2 crore bid, Green's earnings for the IPL 2026 season will be capped at ₹18 crore.
