Team Performance Takes Precedence

Siddhartha Lahiri, the performance coach for Rajasthan Royals, has minimized worries regarding individual player forms, emphasizing the team's commitment to a high-energy strategy for the 2026 Indian Premier League season.

During a press conference before their upcoming match against the Mumbai Indians, Lahiri highlighted the changing landscape of T20 cricket, stating, "The game has evolved significantly; what might seem like a concern is not an issue for us. Our focus is on the team's tempo. Players are performing at a certain pace, and in this high-stakes environment, dismissals are part of the game. What matters is that those who contribute on the day help advance the innings, as Dhruv, Jaiswal, and Vaibhav did in our last game."

Emphasis on Collective Performance

Lahiri reassured that the management is not anxious about the performance of key players such as Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag, stating, "We have no concerns regarding Hetmyer or Riyan's form. We are in a positive mindset and won't dwell on such matters."

He also pointed out that coaches have a limited role in influencing player performance, focusing instead on assisting players in regaining their optimal rhythm. "If coaches start taking credit, we are being foolish. Our role is to support players in finding their best batting flow," he remarked.

Training and Preparation

Lahiri mentioned that targeted training sessions have been organized to refine players' techniques. "We've worked on specific areas, and I'm pleased with Dhruv's performance. Riyan is also batting well but has faced some bad luck. It's early in the tournament—he started strong in the first match. I hope both will excel for us throughout the season," he added.
