Raj Kundra's Serious Allegations Against Rajasthan Royals

Raj Kundra, the former co-owner of Rajasthan Royals, has made shocking allegations of financial fraud and money laundering against a prominent current promoter of the IPL team. In a post on LinkedIn this past Saturday, Kundra announced that he would soon unveil documented proof of what he describes as 'serious financial misconduct' within the ownership framework of the Royals.

Kundra, who faced a lifetime ban from cricket-related activities by the BCCI in 2015, claims he was intentionally marginalized as a co-promoter and deprived of his rightful benefits.

“I will soon be releasing documented evidence exposing serious financial misconduct, money laundering through offshore structures and hidden transactions involving a key promoter of the Rajasthan Royals. This includes willful suppression of co-promoter rights and entitlements, pattern of deceit and manipulation in shareholder dealings. The truth will be shared soon, and the documents will speak for themselves,” Kundra stated.

His statements have reignited controversy surrounding the ownership of the Royals, although the franchise has yet to respond publicly.

Background on Raj Kundra's Ban from IPL

Raj Kundra, who joined the Rajasthan Royals as a co-owner in 2009, received a lifetime ban from the BCCI in 2015 after an investigation into illegal betting during the IPL 2013 season. The Lodha Committee determined that Kundra was guilty of betting activities that tarnished the sport's reputation, resulting in his suspension and a two-year ban for the franchise.

Since that incident, Kundra has kept a low profile regarding IPL matters—until now. His recent claims, which involve allegations of offshore dealings and financial discrepancies, indicate significant turmoil behind the scenes.

Kundra is expected to hold a press conference on June 2, just a day before the IPL 2025 final, although no specific time has been confirmed. This development has stirred excitement as the IPL 2025 final approaches. The Rajasthan Royals had a disappointing season, finishing 9th with only four victories and ten defeats.
