Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 Unveiled

On Thursday, former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid, alongside Venkatesh Prasad from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), officially launched the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 in Bengaluru. This exciting tournament is scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 12, 2026, and will feature six franchises competing in a total of 34 matches across Mysuru, Hubballi, and Bengaluru.

Dravid Highlights the Tournament's Role for Emerging Players

During the event, Dravid emphasized the significance of the Maharaja Trophy as a vital platform for young cricketers to demonstrate their skills. He pointed out that scouts from the Indian Premier League (IPL) closely monitor this tournament, presenting a crucial chance for players to make their mark. Dravid referenced the success of Yash Raj Punja, who was selected for the IPL despite not having played for Karnataka, and expressed optimism that more players would achieve similar success.

"It is fantastic to be part of the Maharaja Trophy unveiling. This tournament offers a remarkable opportunity for young talents to shine. IPL scouts are always watching, and strong performances can lead to opportunities, just like Yash Raj Punja experienced last year, even without prior Karnataka representation. I hope to see more players follow in his footsteps."

Yash Raj Punja's Journey to IPL

Yash Raj Punja, a 19-year-old leg-spinner, was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 30 Lakh during the IPL 2026 Auction. If he plays in a match this season, he will make history as the first player from the UAE to be included in an IPL playing XI.
