India's Confidence Soars After T20I Victory

London [UK], July 10: Indian spinner Radha Yadav expressed that the team's increasing confidence, following their landmark T20I series victory against England, signals a promising future, as reported by the ICC website.

Radha earned the Player of the Match title after taking two wickets, leading India to a historic win in Manchester, marking their first T20I series triumph over England.

This victory gave India a 3-1 lead in the five-match series, a significant achievement considering their previous struggles against England in T20 formats.

Although India had previously faced England in their inaugural T20I match in 2006, they had never secured a series win until this recent success at Old Trafford.

At just 25 years old, Radha is already a seasoned player with four ICC Women’s T20 World Cup appearances and believes the current squad is on the verge of something remarkable.

“The belief and dedication this time are truly different,” Radha remarked after the match in Manchester. “This team and the atmosphere are magical; we are on a path to create something significant moving forward. While there are areas to improve, this is a different team, and we are determined to dominate,” she added.

England managed to score only 126 runs for 7 wickets against India at Old Trafford, missing the leadership of injured captain Nat Sciver-Brunt and former captain Heather Knight during crucial middle overs after opting to bat first.

New England coach Charlotte Edwards remained optimistic despite the loss, stating that her team is focused on improving ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka later this year.

“As long as we are striving to improve, I won’t panic. We are a team on a journey and in transition. It won’t happen overnight, but we hope to see progress, especially in T20 cricket, and aim for a stronger performance in the ODI World Cup this October,” Edwards commented.

The final T20I match of the series is set to take place in Birmingham on Saturday.
