Dsouza had several opportunities to seize control, even reaching set point in the first game, but Sakamoto's resilience turned the tide. In the second game, Dsouza initially led and managed to save a match point with a successful serve, yet she could not finalize the match as Sakamoto capitalized on critical mistakes during pivotal moments.

Previously, Dsouza faced defeat in the semifinals of the women's singles teqball event on Saturday. She had an impressive run in Group A, achieving victories against competitors from Japan and Cambodia. However, in the semifinals, she encountered Indonesia's Sumaya, ultimately losing the match 1-2. Dsouza won the first set 12-7, but Sumaya responded strongly, winning the next two sets 9-12 and 7-12.
