PV Sindhu to Make Her Return

Two-time Olympic champion PV Sindhu is gearing up for her return to competitive badminton at the Malaysia Open 2026. This event marks her first international appearance since September of the previous year. The BWF Super 1000 tournament is scheduled to commence on Tuesday at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, as reported by Olympics.com. This tournament represents a new chapter for Sindhu following a challenging 2025 season plagued by injuries.

Sindhu's Recent Performance

At 30 years old, Sindhu currently holds the 18th position in the BWF women's singles rankings. She has not participated in the BWF World Tour since her quarter-final loss to An Se Young, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, at the China Masters in September. After that match, Sindhu decided to withdraw from the remainder of the season to recover from a foot injury that hindered her performance and led to several early exits. Notably, she secured victory at the Syed Modi International Super 300 in December 2024.
