Overseas Players Arrive in India

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to enhance their squad with the arrival of their overseas stars, including Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson, who are expected to join the team on Tuesday, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

These international players will be available for selection starting with the match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 24. Their return is anticipated to significantly improve Punjab's chances of finishing in the top two of the points table.

Stoinis and Inglis, both hard-hitting Australians, have had limited opportunities this season. Stoinis has scored 82 runs over seven innings with a strike rate of 167.34, while Inglis has accumulated 92 runs in six innings, boasting a strike rate of 139.39.

Hardie, a seam-bowling all-rounder from Western Australia, has yet to make his debut for Punjab this season after being acquired for Rs 1.25 crore in last year's auction. Meanwhile, New Zealand's Jamieson joined the team as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who is sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

Jamieson was signed for his base price of Rs 2 crore. Previously, he was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 2021 IPL Auction for a staggering Rs 15 crore, making him the franchise's most expensive acquisition. In his IPL career, he has taken nine wickets in nine matches, averaging 29.89.

Jamieson made his international debut against India in February 2020, quickly gaining attention for his impressive pace and bounce. He is notable for being the first New Zealand fast bowler to achieve a five-wicket haul in both innings of a Test match.

Currently, Punjab holds the third position with 17 points and has secured a spot in the playoffs. Following their match against Delhi Capitals on May 24, they will wrap up their league stage against Mumbai Indians on May 26 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
