Tribute to Victims of Tragic Boat Accident

During the match, players from Punjab Kings wore black armbands as a mark of respect for the victims of a tragic boat accident that occurred on April 10 in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, claiming the lives of 11 individuals. Reports indicate that over two dozen tourists, primarily pilgrims from Punjab, were on board when the boat capsized and collided with a pontoon drum.


The drum had remained in place after a temporary bridge was removed due to rising water levels. In solidarity with the victims and their families, Punjab Kings expressed their condolences on social media, stating, 'We stand united with the families affected by the tragic incident in Vrindavan. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the victims' families. May God grant them peace.'

Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad opened their innings with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Head scored 38 runs before being dismissed, while Sharma's explosive innings helped set a challenging target.
