Punjab Kings Triumph Over Chennai Super Kings in Thrilling IPL Encounter
Punjab Kings Secure Victory Against Chennai Super Kings
In a captivating match, Yuzvendra Chahal showcased his skills as Punjab Kings clinched a 6-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. Despite needing just 3 runs in the final two overs, Punjab managed to complete the chase with two balls to spare.
Winning the toss, Punjab opted to field first. Sam Curran's explosive innings of 88 runs off 47 balls propelled Chennai Super Kings to a total of 190 in 19.2 overs, following an early batting collapse. Curran, who came in at 22/2, formed a vital partnership with Dewald Brevis (32) and exhibited aggressive batting, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes. His composed celebration upon reaching fifty highlighted his emergence as a reliable T20 performer.
However, the innings took a downturn in the 18th over due to Yuzvendra Chahal's exceptional bowling. The leg-spinner first dismissed MS Dhoni and then achieved a remarkable hat-trick—his second in IPL history—by taking out Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kamboj, and Noor Ahmad in successive deliveries. Chahal's impressive figures of 4/32 dismantled CSK's middle and lower order, causing a dramatic decline from 184/5 to 186/9 in just six balls.
Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh also contributed effectively, each claiming two wickets, while debutant Suryansh Shedge, in his first IPL appearance, ended with figures of 0/40 in 3 overs. Despite Curran's efforts, Chennai's late collapse prevented them from reaching a 200-run total.

Sarpanch Iyer Shines in the Chase
Following the early exit of Priyansh Arya (23), Prabhsimran Singh took charge, scoring 54 runs off 36 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes, although he was fortunate to survive three close calls during his innings. Nehal Wadhera fell cheaply after attempting to hit a low full toss, which was caught by Ravindra Jadeja.
Shashank Singh contributed a brisk 23 runs off 12 balls before being dismissed by a spectacular catch from Dewald Brevis, who juggled the ball three times before securing it at deep midwicket. Shreyas Iyer played a pivotal role, initially steadying the innings before accelerating to score 72 runs off 41 balls, ultimately getting out while attempting to hit a full delivery from Pathirana.
