Punjab Kings' Heartbreaking Loss in IPL 2025 Final

The IPL 2025 Final saw Punjab Kings face off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where they narrowly lost by just 6 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer expressed his disappointment following the match, acknowledging how close they came to clinching the title.

"While I am dejected, I must commend our team's performance. Much credit goes to the management and every player involved. Given our last match here, I believed a score of 200 was achievable. The opposition bowled exceptionally well, and Krunal's performance was outstanding; he truly changed the game. I am proud of our team, especially the young players who experienced their first season. Their fearless attitude was remarkable. Our journey is only halfway done; we aim to secure the title next year. The experience gained this season will be invaluable moving forward," Iyer stated.

Krunal Pandya was highlighted by Iyer as the pivotal player for RCB, taking two vital wickets for only 17 runs. His exceptional performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' title, marking his second such accolade in an IPL Final.

Despite PBKS's strong effort in limiting RCB to a target of 190, the RCB bowlers, including Krunal Pandya, Yash Dayal, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, stepped up at crucial moments. The Challengers secured their victory by a slim margin, with Shashank Singh's late-game heroics falling just short as he hit Josh Hazlewood for a series of boundaries in the final over.
