PSG Secures Spot in Final Against Inter Milan

Paris [France], May 8 (News Media): Paris Saint-Germain triumphed over Arsenal with a 2-1 victory in the UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg at Parc des Princes, ensuring their place in the final against Inter Milan in Munich.

This win allowed PSG to claim a 3-1 aggregate victory, having previously secured a 1-0 win in the first leg.

Arsenal started strong, with Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli creating significant opportunities. Martin Odegaard also had a shot saved by PSG's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.

PSG nearly scored early on, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hitting the post from outside the box. The breakthrough came in the 27th minute when Fabian Ruiz netted a stunning goal from 18 yards.

Despite PSG's attacking efforts, the first half ended with a narrow 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka had a shot saved by Donnarumma, but Arsenal continued to press. In the 72nd minute, Achraf Hakimi connected with Kvaratskhelia's pass and, with the help of substitute Ousmane Dembele, scored to double PSG's lead.

Arsenal fought back, with Leandro Trossard assisting Saka, who scored in the 76th minute, bringing the score to 2-1. Saka had another chance to equalize but missed.

The score remained unchanged, allowing PSG to celebrate their victory and prepare for the final against Inter Milan on June 1.

After the match, Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta expressed his thoughts to TNT Sports, stating, "Over the two legs, their goalkeeper was the standout player. We were very close, much closer than the results indicate, but unfortunately, we are out."

He added, "I am proud of how we started and managed the pressure. After 20 minutes, we should have been ahead 3-0. There’s an element in these competitions that didn’t go our way. It’s disappointing, and we need to feel this loss to grow."

Arteta acknowledged the team's effort despite injuries, saying, "We arrived in a challenging state, and that gives me hope for the future."

On the other side, PSG's manager Luis Enrique remarked, "Reaching the final means a lot. Everyone dreams of this moment. Our goal was to make history, and we are on the right track."

He concluded, "We are a young team with a strong mentality and character. I must commend my players for their performance."
