Indian boxer Priya Ghanghas is determined to clinch the gold medal after advancing to the semifinals in the women's 60kg category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Following her hard-fought victory against Scotland's Niamh Mitchell, Priya expressed her confidence, stating, "My focus is solely on the gold. The reigning Asian champion showcased her resilience by overcoming the Scottish boxer, ensuring at least a bronze medal, as all semifinal losers in Commonwealth Games boxing receive podium placements. Competing in front of a supportive home crowd, Priya faced a challenging start, with Mitchell winning the first round 4-1, effectively utilizing her movement and southpaw stance to pressure the Indian athlete.

However, Priya made a strong comeback in the second round, ramping up her attack intensity and applying constant pressure, which allowed her to equalize the match by winning the round 4-1.
