Pat Cummins Achieves Milestone in IPL Match Against Delhi Capitals

Cummins Makes History for Sunrisers Hyderabad
In a thrilling encounter during the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, Pat Cummins, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, reached a significant milestone, becoming only the fourth player in the franchise's history to take a wicket on the first ball of a match against Delhi Capitals.
Right from the start, Cummins made an impact by dismissing Karun Nair for a golden duck, igniting cheers from the orange-clad fans as he etched his name in the record books.
Cummins Joins an Exclusive Club
Cummins' achievement places him alongside Jagadeesha Suchita, who previously accomplished this feat by getting Virat Kohli out in 2022, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who dismissed Prabhsimran Singh in 2023. Additionally, Mohammed Shami also joined this elite group in the current season by taking out Shaik Rasheed.
With precision, Cummins bowled a good-length delivery that forced Nair to edge the ball, which was caught by wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, marking a swift exit for Nair.
A Fiery Performance by Cummins
Returning for his second over, Cummins struck again on the very first ball, sending Faf du Plessis back to the pavilion with a delivery that angled in, resulting in another catch for Kishan.
Continuing his impressive spell, Cummins dismissed Abishek Porel on his first ball of the over as well, with Porel's attempted flick leading to a simple catch for Kishan. Cummins concluded his outstanding performance with figures of 3 wickets for 19 runs in his four overs, significantly contributing to Hyderabad's victory as Delhi Capitals managed only 133 runs for 7 wickets.
