MANDI: On Saturday morning, May 31, 2025, a paragliding pilot was injured after being caught in a sudden storm shortly after taking off from the famous Bir Billing paragliding site in Kangra district, known as one of Asia's top adventure sports locations.

The incident took place around 10:30 AM. Witnesses reported that the pilot had just launched when unexpected strong winds disrupted the flight path. The intense gusts pushed the pilot nearly 20 kilometers off course, leading to a crash landing on the concrete roof of a house in Pahlun village, near Jogindernagar.
Immediate Response
Local residents and members of the Rotary Club quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The injured pilot was then transported by ambulance to the Civil Hospital in Jogindernagar, where he is currently receiving treatment. Fortunately, his condition has been reported as stable.
