New Delhi [India] - On December 31, the Panipat Panthers emerged from the Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) auction with a well-balanced team that combines seasoned players and promising newcomers, laying the groundwork for an exhilarating season ahead.
At the forefront is Ankit Jaglan, the franchise's most expensive acquisition at Rs 9.8 lakh. Renowned for his strategic gameplay and awareness on the mat, Jaglan is expected to be pivotal in driving the Panthers' aspirations this season. Additionally, the raiding lineup has been bolstered by Narender Kandola, who was secured for Rs 7.2 lakh, and Meetu Sharma at Rs 7 lakh, both anticipated to enhance the team's offensive capabilities, as stated in a KCL press release.
The Panthers have also made astute investments in depth and versatility, bringing in players like Deepanshu Khatri and Ashish Narwal for Rs 4.8 lakh each. The squad is further complemented by a robust supporting cast, including Sahil Deswal, Neeraj Kumar, Sagar, Vicky, and emerging talents like Vishal N Kumar and Priyanshu, creating a team designed for high intensity and resilience.
Joginder Saini, the owner of the Panipat Panthers, shared insights on the team's strategy, saying, “Our goal during the auction was straightforward: to assemble a team that embodies courage, balance, and ambition. We are confident this lineup blends experience with youthful energy, making Panipat proud in the KCL.”
Head coach Randeep Dalal expressed his enthusiasm for the squad, noting, “Our selections were intentional. Each player fulfills a specific role, and collectively they form a cohesive unit capable of adapting to various match scenarios.
