Pakistan Super League Postponed Amid Rising Tensions at India-Pakistan Border

PSL 10th Edition Delayed
Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday that the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been postponed due to escalating tensions at the India-Pakistan border. Just a day earlier, the PCB had indicated that the remaining eight matches would be relocated to the UAE, but specific dates and venues were not disclosed.
The PCB stated that the decision to delay the country's top T20 tournament was made following guidance from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In their official statement, the PCB noted, "The last 24 hours have seen a worsening of the situation on the Line of Control (LOC). The decision to postpone has been taken pursuant to advice received from the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif."
Additionally, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also been suspended for a week in light of the increasing tensions between the two nations. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mentioned that a revised tournament schedule will be released after discussions with government officials and stakeholders.
The recent Pahalgam terror attack has led to heightened tensions, with Pakistan escalating its actions, prompting India to respond with targeted strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Defence Forces are effectively countering Pakistan's escalation.
