Pakistan Cricket Board Postpones Tournaments Amid Security Concerns

Postponement of Cricket Tournaments
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the ongoing President's Trophy Grade II, the Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup, and the Inter-District U19 One-Day tournament due to the prevailing "security conditions in the country." This announcement was made on Saturday.
According to a statement from the PCB, all three tournaments will resume from where they were halted, with a new schedule to be provided later, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
This announcement follows the indefinite suspension of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, which had only eight matches left in the season. The PCB attributed this decision to the "deteriorating situation" at the Pakistan-India border, acting on recommendations from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Interestingly, this decision came shortly after the PCB had proposed relocating the remaining PSL matches to the UAE, a plan that was quickly scrapped as teams began to disband and international players returned home.
Currently, there is no information regarding the potential resumption of the PSL.
Additionally, there is uncertainty surrounding Bangladesh's upcoming T20I series in Pakistan. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has indicated that it is in "active and ongoing discussions" with the PCB about the tour, which is scheduled to start on May 21 in Lahore and Faisalabad. However, the rising political tensions in the area have raised doubts about the tour's viability.
The three-day President's Trophy Grade II commenced in mid-April and was expected to conclude in the fourth week of May, with the final match set to begin on May 22. The other two tournaments were also planned to take place throughout May.
