Pakistan's T20 Squad for Bangladesh Series 2025
PAK vs BAN T20 Squad 2025: Former captain Babar Azam, along with Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi, has not been selected for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the T20 squad on Wednesday, May 21, and the reasons for the exclusion of these prominent players have also been disclosed.
The Bangladesh cricket team is set to tour Pakistan for a three-match T20 series, commencing on May 27, which was initially scheduled to start on May 25. The postponement of the PSL has impacted the scheduling of this series. This will be the first series under the leadership of Mike Hesson as the head coach of Pakistan. The PCB has announced a squad of 16 players, with Salman Ali Agha appointed as captain and Shadab Khan serving as vice-captain. Notably, the absence of major players like Babar, Rizwan, and Afridi is significant.

Is Babar Azam's T20 Career Over?
During the New Zealand tour, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Afridi were also dropped from the squad. Pakistan faced a heavy defeat in that series. Hesson, upon becoming head coach, expressed a desire to include Babar in the T20 series against Bangladesh, but the selectors disagreed. Following their exclusion for the second consecutive time, it is speculated that the PCB does not consider these players fit for the shorter format of the game.
Reasons for the Exclusion of Babar Azam, Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi
