Pakistan's Women's World Cup 2026 Squad Unveiled
The Pakistan women's cricket team has officially announced a robust 15-member squad for the upcoming Women's World Cup 2026, set to take place in the UK starting June 12. Under the captaincy of Fatima Sana, the team will kick off their campaign against their long-standing rivals, India, on June 14. Pakistan finds itself in Group 1 alongside India, Australia, South Africa, and two qualifiers, the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
In a strategic move, Pakistan has introduced several new talents, with five players set to make their T20 World Cup debuts. These newcomers include Eyman Fatima, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen, and Tasmia Rubab. The top order will feature Gull Feroza, who recently scored two centuries in an ODI series against Zimbabwe, while Mubeena Ali and Ayesha Zafar are expected to enhance the batting lineup. The middle order will be anchored by Natalia Parvaiz, Iram Javed, Aliya Riaz, and Saira Jabeen.
Pakistan's bowling attack is anticipated to be a significant strength, featuring seasoned players who have been integral to the team. The squad will employ a spin-heavy strategy, led by Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, Tuba Hassan, and Rameen Shamim, while Fatima, Diana Baig, and Tasmia Rubab will add depth to the pace department. Prior to the World Cup, Pakistan will engage in a tri-series against Ireland and the West Indies.
