In a press conference following Day 3 of the match, Pope reflected on how he focused on his natural game to regain his batting prowess. Despite suggestions to replace him with Jacob Bethell for the number three position, the team chose to back Pope.


Pope stated, "I’ve tried not to let it affect me too much, to be honest. I’m aware that there’s been a lot of talk, but my focus has been on ensuring my game is in the best shape possible. When I get the chance, I aim to capitalize on it."
