Exciting Performances on Day 2 of the Championship
Bhubaneswar: The second day of the Junior and Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship for 2026–27 showcased intense performances and impressive accomplishments in the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) division, reflecting the increasing talent pool in Indian gymnastics.
Tapan Mohanty from Odisha claimed the title of All-Around Champion in the Senior MAG category, achieving an impressive score of 73.433. His performance was marked by consistency and technical skill across all apparatus.
This victory is a notable milestone for the host state, highlighting Odisha's growing stature in the gymnastics arena.
Following him was Yogeshwar Singh from Haryana, who took second place with a score of 72.667, while Shayan Sharma secured third with a score of 71.268, rounding out a fiercely competitive podium.
The day's events were graced by prominent figures such as Sudhir Mital, President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, and Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General of the Fencing Association of India, whose attendance lent importance to the championship and motivated the athletes.
In addition to individual successes, Odisha also advanced to the Senior MAG Team Championship Final, further solidifying its strong showing at the national level.
Day 2 of the championship effectively highlighted elite competition, determination, and excellence, paving the way for an exhilarating conclusion in the forthcoming events.
