Introduction to the Odisha Pro T20 League


Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has officially unveiled the Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL), a groundbreaking franchise-based T20 cricket tournament set to kick off in September 2025. This league will feature six vibrant teams, each representing different regions of Odisha, with the goal of transforming the state's cricketing scene.


The OPTL is crafted to serve as a premier platform for emerging cricketers, providing them with high-stakes competition, extensive exposure, and a chance to display their talents alongside some of the sport's elite.


Sanjay Behera, Secretary of the OCA, expressed enthusiasm about the league's launch, stating, “The Odisha Pro T20 League signifies a pivotal moment in the evolution of cricket within our state. With elite talent and professional management, we believe this league will emerge as a significant player in Indian domestic cricket. Odisha has made substantial contributions to various sports, and now it’s cricket’s turn.”


To ensure top-notch planning and execution, the OCA has teamed up with Arivaa Sports, which will serve as the exclusive management partner for the league. Arivaa Sports boasts a successful history of managing similar leagues in regions like Bengal, Vidarbha, and Saurashtra.

As part of the league's initiation, the OCA is inviting organizations to engage in the franchise ownership process. The Expression of Interest (EOI) document for Franchise Rights will be accessible for download on the official OCA website from July 7 to July 13.


Prospective applicants are required to adhere to the submission guidelines specified in the EOI. Franchise allocations will be conducted through a merit-based system, emphasizing a long-term vision and dedication to cricket development in Odisha.
