Odisha's Impressive Win in Beach Soccer

Diu: In a stunning display of skill, the reigning champions Odisha triumphed over newcomers Himachal Pradesh with a resounding 7-0 victory, securing their place in the women's final of Beach Soccer at the Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) 2026 held in Diu on Thursday. Key players Srijana Tamang, Satyabati Khadia, and Khundongbam Ambalika each netted two goals, contributing significantly to the team's success.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's women's team, featuring Deepika and Pavithra, made a remarkable comeback after losing the first set to defeat their teammates Swathi and Dharshini with scores of 19-21, 21-12, and 15-6 in the first semi-final. They are now set to compete against Pondicherry's Revathi and Swetha for the gold medal. The men's final will see Tamil Nadu's Bharat and Rajesh face off against Goa's Sawan and Gauns.

The KIBG 2026 is organized by the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, with technical oversight from the Sports Authority of India and various national sports federations. Additionally, Odisha secured a Gold medal in Women Regu and a Bronze in Men Regu.
