Djokovic Discusses Bond with Virat Kohli
On Saturday, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic opened up about his friendship with Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli. Despite never having met face-to-face, the two athletes have maintained a connection over the years through social media and messages, offering mutual support and admiration for each other's professional journeys. Djokovic expressed his desire to finally meet Kohli, play tennis and cricket together, and mentioned that this encounter might take place during his upcoming trip to India.
"We haven't met in person yet, but we've been in touch through texts and social media for several years, cheering each other on and appreciating our careers. I hope to meet him soon and play some tennis and cricket. I'm planning a visit to India, so perhaps that will be the perfect opportunity to connect," Djokovic shared regarding Kohli.
Upcoming Wimbledon Challenge for Djokovic
Djokovic is set to compete next at Wimbledon, where he finds himself in the same half as the reigning champion, Jannik Sinner. Additionally, Taylor Fritz is gearing up for an exciting first-round match against Jack Draper, which is anticipated to be one of the highlights of the tournament's opening round.
Path to the Wimbledon Final
As a seven-time Wimbledon champion, Djokovic is on a quest for his 25th Grand Slam title, aiming to end his title drought since winning the US Open in 2023. Starting as the seventh seed, he will face Wu Yibing in his opening match. If he progresses, he could encounter Stefanos Tsitsipas or Hugo Gaston in the second round, Arthur Rinderknech in the third, and potentially Andrey Rublev or Brazilian Joao Fonseca in the fourth round. A quarter-final clash against third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime could also be on the horizon if he continues to advance.
The main draw for Wimbledon is scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 12.
