Djokovic's Journey Towards 100 ATP Titles

Novak Djokovic expressed that reaching the final of the Miami Open marked a significant boost in his motivation as he aims for more titles, particularly his 100th ATP trophy during the clay season. The 37-year-old, who has secured 24 Grand Slam titles, has not claimed a title on the men's tour since his remarkable victory at the ATP Finals in 2023, although he did win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics held at Roland Garros last year.

His pursuit to join the elite group of players, including Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103), who have achieved 100 or more ATP titles, faced a setback last week when he lost to Jakub Mensik. However, Djokovic noted that his performance in Miami reignited his competitive spirit.

Djokovic remarked, "It's undeniable that the challenges have increased as my career progresses, but my play in Miami has inspired me to continue. It feels fantastic to be on the court, striking the ball well and winning matches. Losing early raises doubts and questions about whether to persist, but I rediscovered my joy and performance in Miami. I hope to carry that momentum into the clay season, even though I haven't had much time to adjust to this tournament, so my expectations are modest."

At the ongoing Monte Carlo Masters, Djokovic will be competing without his coach, Andy Murray, who is anticipated to return for the Madrid tournament later this month.
