With this victory, Djokovic notched his 101st win at the clay-court Grand Slam, setting up a semifinal clash with top seed Jannik Sinner, who defeated Alexander Bublik in straight sets earlier. The two players have an even head-to-head record of 4-4, although Sinner has emerged victorious in their last three encounters. Djokovic's sole win against Sinner on clay dates back to 2021.
