New Zealand's Upcoming International Series

New Zealand is set to embark on its next international cricket series, which includes tours to Ireland and England. The Kiwi team will kick off with a one-match Test series against Ireland from May 27 to 30 at a stadium in Belfast. Following this, they will head to England, where the first of three Test matches is scheduled to take place at Lord's starting June 4. The New Zealand cricket board has already revealed the squad for both series, featuring the return of several prominent players, along with one newcomer making his debut in the Test squad.

Key Players Returning to the Squad

Among the players announced for the Test series against Ireland and England is former captain Kane Williamson. He has been absent from international cricket for a significant period but has not officially announced his retirement. Instead, he has indicated that he will assess his availability after each series. Notably, Williamson is just 539 runs shy of becoming the first New Zealander to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket, presenting him with a remarkable opportunity to make history if he participates in both series.

Fast Bowlers Join the Squad

The Kiwi squad also includes several fast bowlers, with Kyle Jamieson and Will O'Rourke making their return. Jamieson is set to return to Test cricket after a two-year hiatus, while O'Rourke is back following a full recovery from injury. However, the team will be without two key spin bowlers, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell. Santner is unavailable due to a shoulder injury sustained during IPL 2026, and Bracewell has opted out of red-ball cricket.

Debut for Dean Foxcroft

Batsman Dean Foxcroft has earned his first call-up to the Kiwi Test squad after an impressive performance during the recent limited-overs series in Bangladesh. He has also been consistently showcasing his talent in domestic cricket. New Zealand's first Test against England is set for June 4, followed by the second match on June 17 at The Oval, and the final Test on June 25 at Trent Bridge.
