Introduction to The Picklr

A new indoor pickleball venue has been established in Seattle's Fremont area, with The Picklr inaugurating a 10-court facility located at 124 North 35th Street. This expansive 27,000-square-foot club, situated at the previous site of Theo Chocolate, opened its doors on April 4, offering a free play day for visitors, as reported by local sources.

Facility Features and Grand Opening

The Picklr, a North American franchise, has designed the facility to include a championship-sized indoor court that is fully fenced and features outdoor-style surfacing, along with a pro shop and private event spaces. To celebrate the opening, the club organized a grand event from 11 am to 4 pm, which included open play, professional sessions, catered food and drinks, chiropractic services, and raffles.

Community Impact and Membership Options

Owner Rajiv Khatri expressed enthusiasm about the facility's impact on the local community, stating, “Bringing The Picklr to Fremont is a game-changer for our community.” He emphasized Washington's historical significance in the sport of pickleball and the club's commitment to providing a premier indoor experience.

The Picklr offers various membership plans, including a $74 junior unlimited option for ages 5 to 17, a $109 play membership, a $141 adult unlimited membership, and a $308 family package. Khatri highlighted that the facility aims to serve a broader community purpose, welcoming players of all skill levels.

Expansion Plans and Future Venues

This Seattle location marks The Picklr's third venue in Washington, following establishments in Federal Way and Tacoma. Additional projects are underway, including Pickle at the Palms in the Interbay neighborhood, which is set to open later this summer.

Chris Walker, Chief Development Officer of The Picklr, expressed excitement about the new facility, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to see The Picklr come to life in Fremont.” With the growing popularity of pickleball across the U.S., this venue is anticipated to enhance the sport's presence in Seattle and serve as a flagship location for the brand.
