New Docuseries 'Partners' Set to Spotlight the Rise of Pickleball
Exploring the World of Professional Pickleball
The sport of pickleball is experiencing a surge in popularity, and a new docuseries titled 'Partners' aims to enhance its visibility. This six-part series, produced by Shutterstock Studios, provides an intimate look at the lives of professional pickleball players on the Professional Pickleball Association circuit over the last 18 months. It promises to deliver a comprehensive view of their competitive experiences and personal stories.
A recently released trailer offers a sneak peek into this high-quality production, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage, player interviews, and match highlights. The series is designed to transcend conventional sports reporting, as noted by executive producer Mark Infante, who described it as straddling the line between a traditional sports documentary and a reality show.
Similar to successful sports docuseries like 'Drive to Survive' and 'Break Point', 'Partners' aims to broaden the audience for pickleball. The trailer emphasizes the fast-paced lifestyle of professional players, often likened to a 'travelling circus', as they navigate competitions across various locations. It also explores the challenges of life on tour, including travel logistics, preparation routines, and interpersonal dynamics.
Scheduled to debut on May 5, 2026, 'Partners' will be accessible on Prime Video, the official YouTube channel of the PPA Tour, and PickleballTV. As excitement builds, this docuseries is anticipated to significantly enhance the sport's reach, similar to the impact of other global sports series.
