Neeraj Chopra's Upcoming Challenge at Ostrava

New Delhi, June 24: Neeraj Chopra, a two-time Olympic medalist, is gearing up for the Ostrava Golden Spike, part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold, taking place on Tuesday. This event marks his return after missing the last two editions due to injuries.

Having recently achieved a top finish at the Paris Diamond League, the Tokyo Olympic champion is eager to continue his momentum. This season, he has successfully surpassed the 90m mark for the first time in his career and aims to build on his recent victory in Paris.

Chopra will face tough competition, including 2016 Olympic champion Thomas Rohler from Germany and Grenada's Anderson Peters, a two-time World Champion and Olympic bronze medalist, in a nine-athlete lineup.

He will be competing in the home country of his new coach, Jan Zelezny, a renowned Czech javelin legend and world record holder, who is also instrumental in organizing the Golden Spike. Notably, Zelezny holds the meeting record with a throw of 94.64m.
