He secured his spot in the final with a throw of 79.61m during the qualification round, finishing fifth overall despite challenging conditions at Scotstoun Stadium. To clinch the gold, Neeraj will need to significantly improve his performance as he faces tough competitors, including defending Commonwealth champion Arshad Nadeem, Sri Lankan athlete Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, reigning world champion Keshorn Walcott, and former world champion Anderson Peters. Additionally, Indian athletes Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh will also compete in the 12-man final.
