PCB Imposes Fine on Naseem Shah

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has levied a substantial fine of 20 million rupees on fast bowler Naseem Shah due to his sarcastic tweets, which were found to violate the terms of his central contract. The PCB's disciplinary committee concluded that Naseem acted irresponsibly on social media.

The controversy began on March 27, when Naseem received a show-cause notice shortly after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended the opening match of the Pakistan Super League at Gaddafi Stadium.

Following this event, Naseem tweeted sarcastic remarks regarding the Punjab leader, which led to his disciplinary action.

Although Naseem submitted a response to the notice along with an unconditional apology, the committee deemed his actions as a breach of contract.

The committee stated, "After reviewing Naseem's response and all relevant details, it was concluded that he violated multiple clauses of his central contract, resulting in a fine of PKR 2 crores."

Additionally, it was reported that Naseem has already terminated his social media advisor, who will be blacklisted by the PCB from working with any players under its jurisdiction.
