In a spectacular display during the second season of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, Amritsar Soormas captain Naman Dhir lit up the field with an astonishing 173 runs off just 64 deliveries on Tuesday at the I.S. Bindra Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. Dhir's explosive performance included 16 boundaries and 12 sixes, showcasing his incredible power-hitting skills against the Mohali Kings.
His remarkable innings led his team to a formidable total of 279 runs in 20 overs. Dhir reached his century in a mere 37 balls during the 12th over, maintaining his aggressive approach throughout the innings. He remained not out, concluding his innings with a phenomenal score of 173 from 64 balls.
The Soormas batted first and faced an early challenge when Sahaj Dhawan was dismissed for just one run. However, Dhir's aggressive batting kept the momentum going. Rahul Kumar, who batted at No. 3, managed only 13 runs before being dismissed. Jashnpreet Singh contributed a valuable 41 runs, but it was Dhir's extraordinary performance that stole the show.
Naman Dhir's IPL Career
Dhir is a player for the Mumbai Indians, who have won the IPL championship five times. He made his IPL debut in 2024, participating in seven matches. He continued with the franchise through the 2025 and 2026 seasons, gaining valuable experience at the top level. To date, Dhir has played 37 matches in the IPL, accumulating 710 runs, which includes three half-centuries.
