Bangladesh Bowler Shines in ODI Series
Nahid Rana, the fast bowler from Bangladesh, has been honored as the ICC Men's Player of the Month for April 2026. This recognition comes after his outstanding performance in the ODI series against New Zealand, where he took eight wickets across three matches. His impressive form continued from a previous series against Pakistan in March, where he also claimed eight wickets.
This accolade marks Rana's first monthly award from the ICC, making him the first Bangladeshi player to receive the men's award since Mehidy Hasan Miraz did so in April of the previous year.
'A Great Feeling': Rana's Reaction
"Being named the ICC Player of the Month is an incredible honor, especially after competing against a top-tier team like New Zealand," Rana expressed to the ICC. "Winning on home turf made this series particularly memorable, and it’s an experience I will always treasure.
He further expressed gratitude towards his teammates for their unwavering support and confidence in him. "I look forward to contributing to more victories and creating unforgettable moments for my team," he added.
