Mustafizur Rahman Receives NOC for IPL 2025
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) to Mustafizur Rahman, allowing him to join the Delhi Capitals (DC) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) from May 18 to May 24, 2025, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
The BCB has confirmed that Mustafizur will participate in Bangladesh's first T20I against the UAE in Sharjah on Saturday before heading to India.
Mustafizur's Role with Delhi Capitals
On Wednesday, Delhi Capitals announced that Mustafizur would replace Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, who is sidelined for the rest of IPL 2025.
Having made his IPL debut in 2016, Mustafizur previously played for the Delhi Capitals in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2022, he took eight wickets in eight matches, maintaining an economy rate of 7.62, and participated in two matches during the 2023 season.
Mustafizur's IPL and T20I Achievements
Over his IPL career, the 29-year-old has appeared in 38 matches, securing 38 wickets with an economy rate of 7.84. He has built a reputation for his effective bowling across all phases of the game.
In T20 internationals, Mustafizur has taken 132 wickets in 106 matches for Bangladesh, establishing himself as one of the top left-arm pacers in white-ball cricket. His overall T20 record includes 351 wickets in 281 matches across various domestic and international competitions.
Mitchell Starc Withdraws from IPL 2025
On Friday, DC's Mitchell Starc announced that he would not be returning to India for the remainder of IPL 2025, according to ESPNcricinfo. Starc has been the leading wicket-taker for DC this season, with 14 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 26.14.
DC players Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs have confirmed their return to India, although Stubbs will only be available for the league phase before departing for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, having been selected for the South Africa squad.
